Oroville Hospital Introduces New Gastroenterologist, Love Dalal, M.D., F.A.C.P., F.A.C.G.

03.20.2013

Oroville Hospital is excited to announce the arrival of a new Gastro-Intestinal specialist, Dr. Love Dalal. Dr. Dalal’s office is located at 2809 Olive Highway in Suite 220. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a Fellow of the American College of

Gastroenterology. Dr. Dalal completed his residency at the prestigious Brown University in Rhode Island and has worked for the past nine years in Bakersfield, California at the Bakersfield Digestive Disease & Endoscopy Center.

As a gastroenterologist, Dr. Dalal deals with disorders of the digestive system from start to finish, including conditions related to esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine (colon), rectum as well as liver and pancreas. Common conditions treated include acid reflux disease, peptic ulcers, irritable bowel disease, swallowing disorders, diarrhea & constipation, rectal bleeding and discomfort, hepatitis-C and colon cancer screening.

Dr. Dalal will also be using a new piece of technology that Oroville Hospital has acquired, the Endo Capsule. The Endo Capsule is used to observe abnormalities in the small intestine. The capsule is the size of a vitamin capsule and consists of a high-resolution camera, and a transmitter. The single-use capsule is easily swallowed with a glass of water. Once swallowed, the capsule will begin transmitting images of the digestive system to a receiver worn comfortably on a belt, on the patient’s hip. The capsule takes two pictures per second as it travels naturally through the GI tract, which takes about eight hours, and is then excreted naturally. This exam is sedation-free, and the patient can go about their normal daily routine. The Endo Capsule captures images that supplies physicians with a full examination of the small bowel which is not easily accessible by conventional upper or lower endoscopies. This piece of technology gives Dr. Dalal a more in-depth view of the intestinal tract, allowing for greater success for diagnosis and treatment.

To make an appointment with Dr. Dalal, please call his office at 532-8071. All insurances are accepted.
